One hundred families complete the digital literacy programme

Students from both levels ran the programme across ten Saturdays at three community centres in the city.

The programme, designed by students on the Technical Baccalaureate in Computing and coordinated by the Centre for Educational Innovation, closed its third run with a hundred families certified.

Ten Saturday sessions covered using devices, email, online paperwork, basic digital banking and security. The materials, written by the students themselves, are published under an open licence in the library repository.

“The hardest part was not the teaching,” says Kevin Ramos, one of the facilitators. “It was learning to explain without using words the other person has no reason to know. That was worth more to me than any class.”

The fourth run opens for registration in February 2027 and will add a module on spotting online fraud, at the request of the families who took part.
